Contact Networks Presents New CEO and Executive Team
Recruits Excite@Home Leaders; Appoints Andy Halliday CEO/President
REDWOOD SHORES, CA, NOVEMBER 1, 1999 – Contact Networks, Inc. (www.contact.com), the personal communications gateway company, today announced the appointment of its executive team, including: Andy Halliday, CEO and president; Adam Hertz, senior vice president of product development; and Omer Malchin, vice president of marketing.

Andy Halliday, Chief Executive Officer and President
Halliday brings to Contact Networks more than 15 years of leadership experience, most recently serving as vice president and general manager of Excite@Home's E-Commerce Group. His group – in partnership with Intel's new Online Services division – architected and developed Excite@Home's Shopping Service (shopping.excite.com), providing a state-of-the-art cross-category consumer shopping experience on the Web. Prior to joining Excite@Home, Halliday was a veteran of the Specialty Retail and Retail Real Estate Development Industries. He has served as president of a number of consumer product companies, including Sacha London, Edison Brothers Entertainment, Horizon Entertainment, Race Rock International, and Simon Brand Ventures. He holds an MBA from Harvard University.
Adam Hertz, Senior Vice President of Product Development
Hertz also joined Contact Networks from Excite@Home where as vice president he held senior management positions in both commerce and international development and engineering. Prior to the Excite@Home merger, Hertz was the vice president of engineering for Excite, and previously general manager of the WebCrawler business unit. Hertz has nearly twenty years of experience in engineering and product management in the personal computer, consumer electronics, workstation and Internet industries, including key positions at Lotus, NeXT and General Magic.
Omer Malchin, Vice President of Marketing
Malchin joins Contact Networks from e-commerce startup, NetFlix.com, a leader in DVD
entertainment, where he was responsible for building corporate identity
and brand equity, as well as directing the company's advertising, public
relations, direct marketing and business development efforts. Malchin has
also held several senior management positions in consumer marketing,
including Heublein and then Paddington, managing category-leading brands
such Black Velvet Canadian Whiskey and Baileys Original Irish Cream. He
also served as vice president of marketing for Pete's Brewing Company. He
holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of
Business.
